Launching in the Fall of 2026, Recess Hotel & Club will transform Savannah’s storied Manger Building into a new kind of lifestyle hotel and clubhouse. With 221 rooms—including suites and bunk rooms—plus co-working, a rooftop pool, a circuit-based wellness club, a French brasserie, and layered social spaces, Recess is designed as a “public club”: a private clubhouse for all. About the role

The Lobby Bar at Recess Hotel & Club is seeking friendly, energetic, and hospitality-driven Baristas to join our team. As one of the property's central gathering spaces, the Lobby Bar welcomes hotel guests, club members, and locals throughout the day with thoughtfully crafted coffee beverages, elevated service, and genuine hospitality.

As a Barista, you will play an important role in creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional beverage preparation, warm interactions, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, hospitality, and creating meaningful connections with guests while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Provide attentive, personalized service to guests while creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, food offerings, seasonal features, and hotel amenities
  • Assist guests with menu selections and answer questions about products and ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the coffee and bar service areas
  • Accurately enter orders and process transactions using the point-of-sale system
  • Prepare ingredients, syrups, garnishes, and other beverage components according to established standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to leadership
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with culinary team members, bartenders, and leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Build relationships with regular guests, club members, and hotel guests through genuine hospitality
  • Serve as an ambassador of the hotel by providing knowledgeable recommendations about property amenities, events, and local experiences

Qualifications

  • Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee brewing techniques, and beverage service standards preferred
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move supplies as needed
  • Professional presentation and grooming standards
  • Flexible schedule, including mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as business needs require
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and operational excellence
