POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all activities related to Maintenance, Die Repair, Tooling Support, and Process Engineering across assigned Madison-Kipp facilities. This role drives equipment reliability, tooling performance, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives in a high-volume aluminum die casting and machining environment.

The Technical Services Manager provides leadership to maintenance technicians, die repair personnel, process engineers, automation resources, and technical support teams while ensuring manufacturing assets operate at peak efficiency and reliability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Lead all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

· Develop and execute maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

· Ensure rapid response to equipment failures while driving permanent corrective actions.

· Drive reliability-centered maintenance practices throughout the organization.

· Establish preventative maintenance programs for die casting dies and tooling.

· Prioritize die repair activities to support production schedules and customer demand.

· Monitor die life, repair costs, tooling performance, and downtime attributable to tooling issues.

· Drive process optimization efforts focused on quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and cost improvement.

· Support new product launches, tooling implementations, and equipment installations.

· Develop and maintain process standards, work instructions, and engineering documentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

• Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing leadership experience.

• Experience in high-volume manufacturing required.

• Experience in aluminum die casting, machining, automation, or automotive manufacturing strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

JOB SKILLS

• Strong understanding of die casting equipment, tooling systems, robotics, and manufacturing processes.

• Knowledge of TPM, predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, and preventive maintenance systems.

• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience managing capital projects and technical budgets.

• Proficiency with ERP, CMMS, and manufacturing reporting systems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

• Less than 5%
