Requirements
Behavioral Competencies:
· Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment, preferably within the polymer industry
· Ability to motivate, coach, and train others

· Knowledge of occupational hazards and related safety precautions
· Ability to work flexible or rotating hours as needed
Technical Competencies:
· Three (3) years manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.
· Ability to convert to different units, metric and English
· Ability to read and interpret operations documents, product specifications and customer specifications
· Basic data analysis: average, range, standard deviation
· Computer skills (Microsoft Office proficient using e-mail, Excel and Word)
· Flex work schedule – may need to work nights and/or weekends periodically dependent upon production demands.
· Statistical analysis capabilities to establish and audit performance goals
Key Responsibilities (What/How):
· Maintain a neat and orderly lab environment in alignment with OLA (5S) standards
· Performing the positive release of finished goods per the defect segregation criteria.
· Complete & send COA's for customers prior to shipments.
· Provide coverage if no Lab Technicians are available to cover.
· Monitor substandard reports daily, to ensure products are appropriately segregated & dispositioned accordingly.
· Perform extra testing for complaint investigation and new product development.
· Verify laboratory equipment according to Verification schedule.
· Schedule equipment calibrations based on the Calibration schedule.
· Complete Special Projects as assigned.
· Perform laboratory inventory of consumables.
· Manage retains and inventory of hand sheet samples.
· Assist operating teams as needed to improve quality.
· Create or Revise Operation Run Documents (Ops docs).
· Create or revise customer specifications according to requests.
· Assist in investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
· Analyze data periodically to update Process Control Strategy.
· Provide & follow-up with customer specific sampling plans.
· Cleaning of the Lab Data Entry system to remove outliers and typos on a periodic basis.
· All these duties above will apply to all Plants on the SVL campus.
· All other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
This position requires frequent lifting and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or move up to 25 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks, and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
