This role plays a critical part in strengthening quality assurance and technical excellence within a complex Premium Audit function. You will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for evaluating intricate commercial audit scenarios, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and improving the consistency and accuracy of audit outcomes. The position blends deep technical audit expertise with training, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration across underwriting, compliance, and operations teams. You will act as a key connector between business units, helping translate regulatory requirements and audit policies into practical execution. The environment is highly analytical and detail-driven, requiring strong judgment in complex, high-impact cases. This is also a leadership-through-influence role where you will shape standards, improve processes, and elevate team capability without direct management responsibility.
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance accounts and provide expert-level guidance to Premium Audit, Underwriting, and related teams.
- Serve as a technical authority for premium audit interpretation, regulatory compliance, and classification guidance.
- Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and technical presentations for internal audit teams and stakeholders.
- Act as liaison between Premium Audit, Underwriting, Compliance, and other business units to resolve technical issues and improve workflows.
- Conduct quality reviews across regions to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor regulatory updates and industry guidance, ensuring timely communication and implementation within audit processes.
- Support audit software and technology utilization, including training, optimization, and coordination with vendors.
- Contribute to special projects, process enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives that improve audit quality and efficiency.
- Mentor less experienced auditors and provide field-level support to strengthen technical capability across the organization.
- Participate in travel and field engagement activities as needed to support operational excellence and partner relationships.
- 7+ years of premium audit experience, including at least 5 years in field audit roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of multi-line commercial insurance premium audit practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business, or related field preferred.
- Advanced understanding of insurance manuals, audit guidelines, classification standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory and audit scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering technical training or presentations.
- Ability to build strong partnerships with internal teams, agents, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with audit systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field engagement and audits.
- Preferred: APA certification or equivalent professional designation.

- Salary range: $111,000 – $144,000 USD per year
