This is a high-impact opportunity to lead communications strategy and reputation-building across European markets for a rapidly growing AI business.
You will shape how the organisation is understood across the continent, developing narratives and campaigns that resonate with local audiences.
The role combines strategic communications, media relations, executive support, reputation management, and creative campaign development.
You will translate global company priorities into compelling European stories while identifying opportunities to create original regional moments.
As a key connector between global and local teams, you will help establish the infrastructure and operating model for an ambitious European communications function.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across sales, marketing, policy, legal, and regional business leadership.
This is an ideal role for an experienced communications leader who combines strong media relationships with creativity, commercial awareness, and excellent knowledge of Europe's diverse landscape.
- Define and own the European communications strategy, strengthening reputation and visibility as the organisation expands across the region.
- Develop and execute creative, high-engagement communications campaigns spanning media, social channels, events, and other relevant platforms.
- Shape the European narrative by developing regional positioning, adapting global announcements into locally relevant stories, and creating original European communications moments.
- Identify emerging reputational risks across European markets and proactively develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, customers, industry organisations, event organisers, and other influential stakeholders.
- Develop and pitch compelling stories to relevant media outlets, generating meaningful coverage and strengthening regional visibility.
- Support senior executives with media interviews, speaking opportunities, event participation, and other external communications.
- Partner closely with sales, marketing, policy, legal, deployment, and regional leadership teams to align communications with business priorities.
- Serve as the connective point between global and European teams, ensuring regional stakeholders have the messaging, resources, and support required to communicate effectively.
- Establish and evolve the operating model for European communications, including processes, priorities, and market-specific approaches.
- Select, brief, and manage external communications agencies where specialist support is required in individual European markets.
- Proven experience leading communications across multiple European markets, ideally within a high-growth technology, AI, or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Strong network of relationships with journalists at leading European and international publications, combined with a demonstrated ability to pitch and secure compelling stories.
- Proven experience handling complex, sensitive, or challenging corporate communications and reputational issues.
- Deep understanding of Europe's political, regulatory, economic, cultural, and media landscape, with the ability to adapt communications strategies to different markets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop distinctive and creative communications campaigns, including unconventional approaches, channels, and tactics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute independently and move quickly from ideas to results.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Comfortable operating in an environment where processes and operating models are still being established.
- Highly autonomous, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership in a high-velocity organisation.
- Experience managing communications agencies across multiple markets is an advantage.
