Accounting Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accounting Manager based in India.

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to take ownership of daily accounting operations and financial reporting within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
This role offers the opportunity to build scalable financial processes, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic business decisions.
You will manage core accounting functions including month-end close, reporting, budgeting, treasury, and AP/AR operations.
Working closely with leadership and operational teams, you will provide accurate financial insights that support growth and long-term planning.

Accountabilities:

The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements while supporting business growth through accurate analysis and strong financial controls.

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities, general ledger accounting, and accounting operations.
  • Lead month-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including budget and forecast variance analysis.
  • Track financial KPIs, operating performance metrics, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Support budgeting activities, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and capital planning.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, billing, and collections.
  • Monitor cash balances and support treasury management and liquidity planning.
  • Build and improve accounting systems, workflows, internal controls, and operational processes.
  • Prepare documentation and reporting required for audits, financing activities, and investor communications.
  • Maintain financial models and operating statements while supporting performance analysis.
  • Track compliance requirements, loan covenants, reserve accounts, and financial reporting obligations.
  • Partner with leadership and operations teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and business improvement.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong accounting expertise, experience with financial reporting, and the ability to independently manage accounting operations in a growing organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or CPA-track experience is preferred.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with real estate or property management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting principles, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience managing AP/AR operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, or similar systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a startup or high-growth environment where processes are built and improved continuously.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Availability to work aligned with US business hours when required.
