In this role, you'll manage accounts payable for multiple business units while gaining exposure to job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting responsibilities. This position offers a clear career path into a Project Accountant role.

What You'll Do

  • Process high-volume accounts payable invoices for multiple business entities.

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships while resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Verify vendor statements and reconcile outstanding balances.
  • Assist with weekly cash requirements and payment scheduling.
  • Support month-end close activities, AP accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate AP documentation for audits and financial reporting.
  • Assist with vendor setup, W-9 collection, 1099 reporting, lien waivers, retainage tracking, and subcontractor compliance.

Career Growth

This role is designed to develop into a Project Accountant position. As you grow, you'll gain experience with:

  • Work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
  • Job profitability analysis
  • Cost-to-complete forecasting
  • Change order tracking
  • Project financial reporting
  • Partnering directly with Project Managers to monitor project performance

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of high-volume accounts payable experience.
  • Construction, mechanical contracting, or job-cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience coding invoices to jobs and cost codes.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction accounting software such as Davisware Vision, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Vista, Foundation, Sage, or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of lien waivers, retainage, subcontractor compliance, and 1099 reporting.
  • Experience working in a multi-company or shared services accounting environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay depending on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions
  • Company-paid life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
