Senior Consultant - Instructor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant - Instructor to deliver retirement and benefits education programs for federal employees through engaging virtual training sessions.
This role combines subject matter expertise, instructional design, and client engagement to help employees better understand complex retirement planning decisions.
You will develop and deliver high-quality learning experiences covering federal benefits, retirement eligibility, financial planning considerations, and transition planning.
The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to simplify complex policies, and confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
Working closely with program support teams and client stakeholders, you will help ensure training initiatives are organized, effective, and aligned with mission objectives.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Consultant - Instructor will be responsible for developing, updating, and delivering retirement and benefits training programs while ensuring participants receive clear, accurate, and engaging guidance.

  • Deliver instructor-led virtual pre-retirement seminars focused on mid-career and late-career retirement planning.
  • Update and maintain training materials to ensure content remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with client requirements.
  • Facilitate interactive virtual sessions for groups of employees, adapting delivery methods to maximize participant understanding and engagement.
  • Explain complex retirement and benefits concepts in a clear and accessible manner for diverse audiences.
  • Provide education on topics including retirement eligibility, annuity calculations, service credit, survivor benefits, Social Security, Medicare, and federal employee benefit programs.
  • Guide participants through key retirement planning considerations, including Thrift Savings Plan, health benefits, life insurance, leave benefits, and financial planning strategies.
  • Coordinate with project support resources to ensure smooth seminar scheduling, logistics, and client communication.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align training content and delivery with organizational needs.
  • Respond to participant questions and provide accurate explanations regarding retirement and benefits topics.
  • Support continuous improvement of training materials and instructional approaches.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong retirement and benefits knowledge with instructional expertise and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Background in Human Resource Management, Employment Law, Benefits Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering professional training, workshops, seminars, or educational programs.
  • Strong understanding of employee retirement planning, benefits administration, and workforce transition topics.
  • Ability to explain complex policies, procedures, and regulations in a clear and engaging way.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable leading virtual instructor-led training sessions for large groups.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, prepare materials, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams and client representatives.
  • Experience supporting government or federal employee programs is preferred.
