Heeter is now seeking an HR Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is able to finalize work independently, and is passionate about growing a career in HR.
As HR Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our employees, leaders, and HR initiatives while gaining valuable experience across multiple areas of Human Resources. This position works to facilitate essential HR processes, ensure compliance, maintain accurate HR systems and employee records, and support strategic initiatives that strengthen our workplace culture. You'll contribute to projects involving onboarding, benefits administration, safety, payroll & timekeeping, training & compliance, and process improvement while building expertise in human resources, project management, communication, and organizational strategy.
- Manage employee records in HRIS including hiring, changes, transfers, benefits enrollments and termination while ensuring timely completion of all workflows.
- Support open enrollment process, activities and communications.
- Support onboarding process of new hires to ensure a positive first day experience.
- Process all HR updates and documentation related to payroll, timekeeping, benefits, leave of absences, time off, safety, training and compliance.
- Support recruitment activities, including phone screens, interview scheduling, offer and background processes through onboarding planning.
- Coordinate employee engagement events and support recognition programs
- Provide exceptional service to employees and leaders by responding to HR questions and helping connect them with the resources they need.
- Performing other related duties and administrative support to ensure success of the HR team.
Position is full-time and 100% on-site at our Canonsburg, PA facility. Only local candidates will be considered.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and processes.
- Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships across the organization.
- Working knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and federal and state employment laws.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn HRIS & payroll systems.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions:
- Activity: Sitting and working at a computer and using phone communications up to 8 hours per day. Ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 10 lbs occasionally.
- Work Environment: Heeter maintains a safe and clean front office environment.
- Visual Acuity: Ability to read and distinguish small print, depth perception, color perception.
