Commercial HVAC Service Technician (RTUs, VRF, and Commercial Systems)

Our work includes preventive maintenance, repair, retrofits, equipment replacement, new construction, and the design, financing, and installation of energy efficiency projects that lower our customers’ capital and operating costs. About the Role
We have a strong backlog of service, preventive maintenance, and replacement work, and we’re continuing to grow. This is a commercial-only position; technicians are not rotated into residential service.

We’re looking for technicians who can troubleshoot independently, communicate professionally with customers, and take ownership of their work. Technicians interested in controls, estimating, project management, operations, or leadership will have room to grow into those roles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, economizers, and associated controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and related equipment.
• Identify repair and replacement needs and make recommendations to customers.
• Complete digital service tickets and job documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, project managers, and customers.
• Follow company safety procedures and all applicable codes and regulations.

Requirements

• EPA certification.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with RTUs, split systems, refrigeration systems, and basic controls.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on rooftops, ladders, and lifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four or more years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Experience with VRF/VRV systems.
• Experience with DDC controls and building automation systems (BAS).
• Experience with boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and variable-frequency drives (VFDs).
• Experience quoting repairs and replacements.
