DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL– COMMUNITY BASED DAY SERVICES (CBDS)

Easthampton, MA. Day Shift - Monday-Friday - $20.00/hour to start

Join our CBDS Team to assist our participants in discovering the work they like to do. Teach life and job skills that people need in order to succeed in a volunteer position or a paying job. Travel with participants to volunteer jobs, or take a trip to a coffee shop or a museum and other places that will integrate people into their community.

We are actively hiring Direct Support Professionals to join our dedicated team.. This position provides direct care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As part of the direct care , you will assist with feeding, toileting, and other personal hygiene needs. We will train you to operate assistive equipment (lifts and wheelchairs, etc.) in order to further support the people we provide services to. There may be occasions when non-violent intervention techniques must be implemented – you will be taught by our certified trainers. Although no experience is required, ideal candidates will possess understanding, patience, and a willingness to be a team player. If you have initiative and are self-motivated, this position may be perfect for you.

Experienced Direct Care Workers, as well as CNAs, LPNs, PCAs, Teaching Assistants, and Paraprofessionals are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills are imperative, and you must be comfortable engaging and interacting with the people we serve, their families and colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS:

· At least 18 years old

· 3 years of driving experience, and an excellent driving record preferred

· Able to pass a pre-employment CORI, SORI, and Fingerprinting

. High School Diploma or GED

· Have basic computer and typing skills

. Resiliency for working with highly physical and mentally stressful situations

. Body mechanics and strength requirements are needed when working with and assisting individuals utilizing wheelchairs, gait belts, lifts, or mat work.
