Job Description

Satellite Laboratory Operations Manager

  • JOB SUMMARY
      • Responsible for the clinical/technical operation of the Berkshire Health Systems Satellite Laboratories. Allocates resources efficiently, assist in developing and maintaining operating budgets, develops and oversees policy and procedure. Directs staff engagement and development activities. Assures applicable laws and regulations are accordingly maintained. Works with Lab management team to assure all areas of the lab are managed appropriately. Along with all lab management develops long and short-range plans for strategic business growth, expansion, diversification, etc. that supports strategic plan and ambulatory services operational plans
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Experience:
      • 5 years’ recent lab experience with 3 years experience in a management role.
    • Education:
      • Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology Biology or Chemistry required.
    • Licensure & Certifications:
      • ASCP - ASCP/NCA-Certified medical technologist/clinical lab scientist through ASCP or NCA or CLIA approved equivalent.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Must be highly flexible and able to work under stressful situations.
    • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with management and staff to address, resolve, and improve relationships to satisfy customer expectations.
    • Knowledge of HIS/LIS required.
    • Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, FDA, CAP, and CLIA regulations as they apply to Laboratory Medicine

      • Lead Tech, CLS
