Job Description
The Finisher supports the machine shop by removing burs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined components. This position ensures all parts meet ECS quality and dimensional standards before moving to the next stage of production. The role requires precision, consistency, and attention to detail to maintain the high-quality workmanship ECS is known for.
Requirements: • Inspect machined parts for burrs, rough edges, tool marks, or other imperfections
• Deburr and finish parts using hand tools, files, sandpaper, grinders, rotary tools, or other power equipment
• Follow blueprints, work orders, and inspection sheets to confirm part requirements and tolerances
• Verify part conformance using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Clean and prepare finished parts for the next process (assembly, coating, inspection, etc.)
• Communicate any non-conformances or quality issues to the Machine Shop Supervisor
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S and ECS safety standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to interpret and follow blueprints or part drawings
• Proficient use of basic measuring instruments
• Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
• Basic math and measurement skills, including ability to work with decimals, fractions, and tolerances
Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal dust, and varying temperatures
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools used in finishing processes
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
• Ability to maintain focus and precision in a detail-oriented, repetitive environment
• Ability to perform fine, repetitive hand movements for extended periods
• Regular and reliable attendance is required
