Job Description
Jaxon is looking for a full-time, on-site, Electrical Engineer to work at its headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO.

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance or higher.
Required Travel: Some travel maybe required up to 15% per year.
Salary: $75,000-95,000 annual

Requirements:· Assist with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and network architecture design, including block diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and building footprint integration.
· Assist with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programming to include analyzing information requirements, developing graphical display layouts, and developing control strategies for HMI displays.
· Assist with developing and testing prototype devices.
· Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects encompassing fabrication, procurement, assembly, installation, and field support requirements.
· Develop power load analysis charts and electrical distribution plans for installation projects.
· Support existing hardware projects through development, debugging, integration, testing, validation, and technical documentation.
· Assist with product installation, commissioning, and startup activities in the field, including on-site troubleshooting and customer support as needed.
· Support production quality control efforts through inspection, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives.
· Assist manufacturing and production teams with resolving hardware and system integration issues during fabrication and testing.
· Perform system verification, functional testing, and validation of assemblies, control systems, and integrated products.
· Maintain accurate engineering documentation, test records, as-built drawings, and revision control throughout project lifecycles.
· Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and operations teams to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and production efficiency.
Education:
· Bachelor’s (or advanced degree) in Electrical Engineering preferred; degrees in other discipline Engineering or related technical fields will be considered with relevant experience.
Required Job Qualifications
· Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop operational efficiencies.
· Demonstrated ability to design block diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and circuit designs.
· Demonstrated troubleshooting skills involving electrical systems, PLCs, hardware integration, and production-related issues.
· Experience supporting production, manufacturing, quality control, or system integration activities.
· Demonstrated skills in technical writing, documentation, and maintaining engineering records.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· Willing to travel to provide customer support and field installation support (typically 15% travel).
Desired Job Qualifications
· Active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance.
· 2+ years of professional experience in R&D, controls engineering, manufacturing engineering, or PLC engineering.
· Professional experience using Visio, KiCad, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar design tools.
· Professional experience using Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench, FactoryTalk, or similar PLC/HMI programming software.
· Professional experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, testing, and implementation.
· Experience supporting production quality control, failure analysis, and corrective action activities.
· Experience with industrial control panels, electrical integration, and low-voltage power distribution systems.
· Experience writing white papers, test procedures, technical reports, and working on R&D projects.
· Familiarity with networking concepts, industrial communication protocols, and control system integration.
· Familiarity with the binary and hexadecimal numbering systems.
· Demonstrated skill in technical writing and engineering documentation.
