Overview
Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking a dependable Production Helper to join our manufacturing team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the First Operations Manager, the Production Helper primarily supports production at the Gemini machine by unloading parts, grinding and finishing metal components, and sorting and counting completed orders.
This position may also assist in other production departments based on business needs.
Responsibilities
Unload finished parts from the Gemini machine.
Grind, deburr, and finish metal parts according to specifications.
Sort, count, and organize completed parts and order quantities.
Inspect parts for basic quality requirements.
Safely use hand tools and grinding equipment.
Read and follow basic blueprints, shop drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
Use basic measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
Safely move and handle materials throughout the work area.
Assist other departments and production areas as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
Complete assigned work efficiently and within production expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, stand, and move throughout the workday.
Ability to transport products and materials short distanc
Qualifications
Previous manufacturing, metalworking, grinding, or fabrication experience preferred.
Ability to safely use hand tools and work around metal and sharp objects.
Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
Basic computer skills.
Basic shop math skills.
Ability to learn and use precision measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and assist in different production areas as needed.
Previous overhead crane experience is a plus.
