Job Description

The Site Security Guard is responsible for protecting company employees, visitors, property, equipment, and facilities by maintaining a safe and secure environment. This position controls site access, monitors security systems, conducts routine patrols, responds to incidents, and enforces company policies and procedures. The Security Guard serves as the first point of contact for visitors and helps ensure compliance with all company safety, security, and emergency response requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Control access to company property by verifying employee, visitor, and contractor authorization.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and facility grounds.
  • Perform scheduled interior and exterior security patrols.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or security breaches.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, medical incidents, and security concerns.
  • Complete detailed incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
  • Operate surveillance cameras, access control systems, radios, and other security equipment.
  • Escort visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel when required.
  • Inspect gates, doors, fences, lighting, and security equipment for proper operation.
  • Enforce company policies regarding site access, safety, and security.
  • Coordinate with emergency responders, law enforcement, and management during emergencies.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations and accountability procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company operations and sensitive information.
  • Promote a professional and courteous environment while interacting with employees, customers, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures, security best practices and CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certified, or the ability to become certified.
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or industrial facility security experience is preferred.
  • Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Basic computer skills for report writing and access control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and security best practices.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility and outdoor grounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and perform routine patrols.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to observe security concerns and respond to alarms.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, including regular time on the production floor.
  • May be exposed to noise, heat, moving equipment, machinery, chemicals, and other conditions typical of a continuous manufacturing operation.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment while in designated areas.
  • Must complete all required safety training, including site-specific, job-specific, equipment-related, and refresher training, and apply safe work practices when working on or around plant equipment.
  • May require standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and accessing equipment areas to troubleshoot or observe operating conditions.
  • Must be able to support urgent equipment issues, projects, shutdowns, or commissioning activities outside of normal business hours as needed in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
