Outreach Manager
Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT)
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Department: Outreach & Admissions
Reports To: Director of Admissions
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Outreach Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding MSCT’s outreach activities to generate qualified prospective-student leads, strengthen community relationships, increase enrollment opportunities, and enhance the school’s presence throughout New York City and surrounding communities.
The Outreach Manager will lead strategic outreach initiatives targeting prospective students, community organizations, workforce-development organizations, employers, high schools, nonprofit organizations, immigrant and community groups, churches, libraries, career centers, and other strategic partners.
This position requires a results-driven, highly organized, and proactive leader who can build relationships while also being accountable for measurable lead-generation and enrollment outcomes.
The Outreach Manager will work closely with Admissions, Marketing, Financial Aid, Education, Career Services, and Campus Leadership to ensure that outreach opportunities are effectively converted into qualified admissions appointments, applications, and enrollments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Outreach Strategy & Business Development
Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy aligned with MSCT enrollment and growth objectives.
Identify new markets, communities, organizations, and populations that may benefit from MSCT career-training programs.
Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, workforce agencies, employers, schools, nonprofits, community centers, and other referral sources.
Develop strategic partnerships that generate consistent prospective-student referrals.
Identify opportunities for MSCT to participate in community events, career fairs, educational events, workshops, information sessions, and recruitment activities.
Continuously evaluate outreach strategies and adjust methods based on results and enrollment performance.
2. Lead Generation & Enrollment Support
Generate qualified leads through community outreach, events, presentations, partnerships, referrals, and direct engagement.
Work closely with Admissions to ensure timely follow-up on all outreach-generated leads.
Establish measurable outreach goals for contacts, leads, appointments, applications, and enrollments.
Track the performance of outreach activities and identify which sources produce the highest-quality prospects.
Assist Admissions in improving the conversion of outreach leads into campus visits, applications, and enrollments.
Maintain accurate and timely records of outreach activities and lead sources in MSCT’s CRM and other approved systems.
3. Community Partnerships
Develop long-term relationships with organizations serving diverse populations throughout Brooklyn and the greater NYC area.
Represent MSCT professionally at community meetings, conferences, career fairs, educational events, and networking opportunities.
Create referral relationships with organizations that serve individuals seeking career training, English-language education, healthcare careers, and professional advancement.
Coordinate presentations and information sessions for prospective students and community partners.
Develop partnerships that can support both immediate enrollment opportunities and long-term institutional growth.
4. Events & Recruitment Activities
Plan and coordinate outreach events, open houses, community presentations, career fairs, workshops, and recruitment initiatives.
Develop event calendars and ensure appropriate staffing and follow-up.
Coordinate with Marketing to ensure promotional materials, digital campaigns, signage, flyers, and other recruitment resources are available.
Ensure every event has measurable objectives and a documented follow-up process.
Analyze event performance and make recommendations for future activities.
5. Team Leadership
Supervise and provide direction to Outreach Representatives, Outreach Coordinators, interns, work-study students, or other personnel assigned to outreach activities.
Establish daily, weekly, and monthly activity expectations.
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
Train outreach staff on MSCT programs, messaging, lead qualification, CRM documentation, and professional communication.
Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and a student-centered approach.
Work with Campus Leadership to identify staffing needs and opportunities for expansion.
6. Marketing Collaboration
Work closely with the Marketing team to align community outreach with digital and traditional marketing campaigns.
Provide feedback regarding community trends, prospective-student interests, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
Support social media, email, flyer, event, and promotional initiatives when appropriate.
Identify new channels for reaching prospective students and community partners.
7. Reporting & Performance Management
The Outreach Manager will be responsible for maintaining and reporting measurable outreach performance, including:
Number of outreach contacts
Number of new community partnerships
Number of events attended
Leads generated
Qualified leads
Appointments scheduled
Campus visits/tours generated
Applications generated
Enrollments generated
