Theradex Oncology is a full-service CRO specializing in oncology. The company manages global oncology trials and programs. The company was founded in 1982 working with the National Cancer Institute, which led to its expansion to working with industry sponsors developing cancer therapeutics. As a service-based company we support both domestic and international sponsors in the conduct of both early and late phase trials.

About the RoleWe are seeking a Business Development (Clinical Services) profesional. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth for oncology clinical research, acquiring new clients and building strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit new clients and ensure that Theradex is successful when opportunity for repetitive orders occur.
- Develop emerging business, prospect pipeline.
- Lead the contract process.
- Facilitate all communication with clients regarding the contract process and advise on change orders and quarterly reviews.
- Responsible for and preparation of client proposals with the support of area experts.
- Prepare all proposals and budgets providing scenario analysis and cost comparisons for internal and external use as necessary.
- Prepare all Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements for all prospective clients.
- Upon project award prepare the Master Service Agreement, initial Work Order Letter of Intent or Consulting Agreement with appropriate review process.
- Review all contract performance on a quarterly basis and prepare all supportive materials for the client contract review meeting.
- Responsible for maintaining both paper and electronic files including all proposals, and fully executed copies of all Master Service Agreements, Work Orders, Consulting Agreements, Letters of Intent. Any supportive documentation should also be maintained with the files.
- Maintain current list of Theradex experience organized by study phase and indication.
- Work with clinical experts to prepare proposal specific background for inclusion in proposals.
- Coordinate bid defense meetings and prepare presentations for bid defense meetings and be available to participate in these meetings if needed.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all templates including client proposals, Master Service Agreements Letter of Intent and Consulting Agreements.
Level of Education
Bachelors degree required – life science field or equivalent
Master degree preferred
Prior Experience
8+ years of relevant business development experience in a CRO/pharmaceutical environment required
Experience of oncology clinical trials and cancer therapies required
Skills and Competencies

- Completion of Theradex Oncology induction training program, ICH-GCP training
- Highly effective ability to anticipate problems relating to projects and to develop and implement solutions
- Fluent knowledge of written and verbal English
- Knowledgeable of the initiation, conduct, and completion of all phases of oncology clinical trials study endpoints, and clinical databases
- Knowledgeable in the identification, anticipation, and reporting to appropriate management problems relating to study conduct, and highly effective in developing solutions to those problems
- Effective in writing reports and varied correspondence
- Effective knowledge of the drug development process and the Theradex Oncology organizational structure
- Effective knowledge of current projects, including:
- Protocol and CRF details
- Study Plans
- Project-specific scientific knowledge
- Sponsor requirements (i.e., Sponsor SOPs, contract-specific requirements, etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of SOPs of Theradex Oncology and specific Sponsor
- Thorough knowledge of current European and North American regulations (dependent upon location) and any applicable guidelines
- Highly effective ability to set and meet personal short- and long-term goals
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 50% when required, domestic and/or global
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic knowledge of one or more European language an advantage (as applicable)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000-$225,000, plus commission. The actual salary offer will be based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies for the role.
