FT, Retail Store Manager in Charleston, South Carolina at Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement

Bishop Gadsden is seeking a Retail Manager to lead our unique, mission-driven retail operations. This is an opportunity to combine your passion for retail, community, and service in a meaningful environment—while enjoying consistent daytime schedules and work-life balance.

This position oversees three distinctive retail spaces on our campus: Eliza’s Attic (curated resale boutique), The Village Shop, and Stahly Boutique, offering clothing, gifts, and specialty items. You’ll partner closely with team members and resident volunteers to create welcoming, customer-focused retail experiences while driving operational excellence and sales performance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead day-to-day operations, inventory management, and merchandising across multiple retail locations
• Supervise, coach, and support staff and resident volunteers
• Plan and execute promotions, sales events, and creative merchandising strategies
• Manage donation intake, processing, and resale workflows
• Oversee store marketing, advertising, and digital communications
• Ensure consistent store hours (daytime operations) and optimal customer experience
• Monitor financial performance, report sales metrics, and identify growth opportunities
• Coordinate logistics for donation pickups, deliveries, and store displays
• Maintain organized, appealing store environments, including furniture and specialty displays

WHAT BISHOP GADSDEN NEEDS FROM YOU:

• 5+ years of retail, customer service, or store management experience
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Experience with merchandising, buying, or sourcing preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Comfort with physical tasks (lifting up to 60 lbs, moving merchandise)
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate a company vehicle
• Knowledge of antiques or resale retail is a plus
