Job Description
BME Fire Trucks is looking for an experienced press brake operator. The brake press is used to bend the parts that are put together to form the body of the fire truck. As a press brake operator, you will be responsible for:
· Setting up and operating a hydraulic brake press to a set of work instructions.
· Selecting correct tooling for the job.
· Loading, installing and correctly setting up the tools required.
· Performing assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
· Evaluating, correcting, and taking actions necessary to prevent external quality issues.
· Utilizing a variety of material lifting devices.
· Utilizing a variety of material control devices.
· Working responsibly and safely at all times.
· Participating in the plan to organize, control and maintain the work environment.
Requirements:WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
· Basic metal fabrication background
· Metal press forming experience
· Basic dimensional measuring and shop math competence
· Ability to read and understand blueprints
· Work in an efficient and timely manner
· Must be detail oriented, motivated and a reliable, hard worker.
· Mechanic apprenticeship
· Excellent diagnostic skills
· Ability to use plasma torch
· Experience with hand and power tools
