Position Overview

Hunter Foundry is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Schaumburg, IL. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to support precision machining operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and machinists to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and edit CNC programs for milling, turning, and other machining operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM models to create accurate machining instructions.
• Set up and optimize machining processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, providing solutions to improve productivity.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Maintain documentation of programs, tooling, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and compansssy policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in CNC programming, machining, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining operations.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC machine controls.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
