As we continue our national expansion, we are seeking a Senior Analyst, Agency Compensation & Commission Operations to support the management and optimization of commission and compensation processes across our growing distribution network.
Position SummaryThe Senior Analyst, Agency Compensation & Commission Operations is responsible for commission reconciliation, carrier compensation analysis, agency hierarchy management, override calculations, compensation reporting, and operational support across all lines of business.
This role serves as a key subject matter expert and works closely with Finance, Contracting, Agency Services, Sales, Carrier Relations, and Operations teams to ensure the accurate administration of commissions and compensation programs.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within an FMO, NMO, insurance carrier, MGA, brokerage, or insurance distribution organization and possess a strong understanding of agent compensation structures, carrier commission statements, hierarchy management, and commission operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommission OperationsReview, analyze, and reconcile carrier commission statements across Medicare, ACA, Life, Supplemental, and Ancillary product lines.
Validate commission payments, overrides, bonuses, and compensation adjustments.
Research and resolve commission discrepancies and payment issues.
Monitor and process commission chargebacks, recaptures, and adjustments.
Maintain and validate agent, agency, and partner compensation structures.
Manage hierarchy and upline/downline compensation relationships.
Support implementation of new compensation schedules, bonus programs, and carrier compensation changes.
Ensure accurate compensation setup for agents, agencies, and strategic partners.
Prepare commission and compensation reporting for leadership teams.
Analyze compensation trends, revenue performance, and carrier payment activity.
Develop recurring reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.
Reconcile carrier commission payments against internal compensation systems.
Work directly with carriers and internal stakeholders to resolve payment discrepancies.
Validate enrollment-to-payment relationships and commission accuracy.
Support commission revenue forecasting and financial analysis efforts.
Maintain commission databases, compensation records, and reporting tools.
Assist with automation and process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Operations teams to improve data quality and reporting capabilities.
Support testing and implementation of new compensation processes and technologies.
Assist Agency Services, Sales, and Contracting teams with commission-related inquiries.
Provide guidance regarding compensation structures, hierarchy relationships, and carrier payment processes.
Support escalated commission and override inquiries from agency partners.
Minimum 3 years of experience within an FMO, NMO, insurance carrier, MGA, brokerage, or insurance distribution organization.
Experience working with commission operations, compensation administration, agency hierarchies, or carrier commission reconciliation.
Strong understanding of insurance distribution compensation models and override structures.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience supporting Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, ACA, Life, or Ancillary insurance products.
Experience with commission tracking systems and compensation databases.
Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Access, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting platforms.
Experience working with large independent agency distribution models.
