Job Description

Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for receiving and shipping jet engines, stands, and other high value materials requiring the usage of a heavy-duty forklift. This role manages movement, storage, and documentation within an FAA-regulated environment, prepares engines for shipment, and supports additional tasks as assigned. The position ensures alignment with FAA/EASA regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency, financial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position works closely with the Logistics Crew Lead, Shared Services Manager and Planning Department to maintain timely material flow and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and follow instructions from the crew lead and planner regarding daily job assignments.
  • Understand and adhere to the priority order of assigned tasks.
  • Accurately record man-hours for all work performed through proper sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Maintain responsible use of all special tools and shop equipment; ensure proper storage after use.
  • Operate forklifts safely, maintaining awareness of personnel and surroundings.
  • Ensure forklifts are properly stored, fueled, cleaned, and ready for operation.
  • Photograph incoming and outgoing engines, engine stands, and high-value materials upon entry and exit from the facility.
  • Safely wrap and unwrap aircraft engines and engine stands using approved materials and procedures to protect components during storage and transportation.
  • Ensure all protective coverings are applied and removed in compliance with company and FAA standards.
  • Track and update inventory activity, maintain lists and records, and log all completed tasks.
  • Remove engines, engine stands, and materials from trucks or shipping containers and transport them to designated areas.
  • Communicate with supervisors and logistics team when lifting or setting engines in designated areas; proactively prevent hazardous situations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to pass drug test/background check – we are a drug free workplace.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations; aviation experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely (certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with FAA regulations.
