Operations Manager – Quincy Recycle – New Haven, IN.

$80,000-$120,000 per year | Salary | Full – Time

About Us: Quincy Recycle is in the business of solving waste stream problems for manufacturers. We handle paper, plastic, and metal recyclables and help our clients build sustainable waste-reduction processes within their businesses. We are also a major supplier and buyer of Gaylord boxes. With in-house logistics, equipment distribution, and food waste processing, we are a one-stop shop in helping our partners maximize their financial and sustainability goals.

Our facility is located in New Haven, IN. but we serve customers across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a safe work environment by ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations, housekeeping standards, maintenance initiatives, and company policies in partnership with EHS and Facilities Operations & Support teams
  • Lead daily plant operations and workforce planning to achieve production goals through effective labor allocation, scheduling, overtime management, and team leadership
  • Manage plant financial performance, including gross margin analysis, cost controls, inventory management, productivity metrics, and time study calculations
  • Oversee inbound and outbound freight operations to optimize transportation efficiency and reduce cost per ton
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, operational efficiencies, and process improvements across all plant functions
  • Lead maintenance operations and coordinate weekly maintenance meetings to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
  • Oversee project management efforts, including facility upgrades, operational improvements, and capital-related initiatives
  • Manage and maintain key operational systems, including KPA and Stampli PO systems
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer annual compensation reviews aligned with company and employee performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, procurement, sales, marketing, and operations teams to drive alignment, profitability, and business growth
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence throughout the operation
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Success Metrics

  • Successful candidates are comfortable adapting their schedule to support team leadership, production flow, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain zero lost-time incidents while minimizing workplace injuries and safety risks
  • Achieve improved gross margin performance and measurable cost efficiencies
  • Reduce inbound and outbound freight costs per ton through operational optimization
  • Maintain controlled labor hours and minimize unnecessary overtime
  • Deliver high employee engagement, accountability, and performance alignment
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships that positively impact operational and financial performance
  • Ensure plant housekeeping, maintenance, and compliance standards consistently meet or exceed expectations
  • Minimize operational downtime through proactive maintenance leadership and planning
  • Establish industry-leading customer service performance that supports long-term business growth

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience
  • Proven leadership with a cross-functional team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with LMS or other operational software systems
  • Some limited travel required
