DEPARTMENT: Grocery Department

REPORTS TO: Grocery Manager/Assistant Manager

OBJECTIVE: Stock and display all assigned products in a fast, efficient and safe manner, taking care to avoid product damage while maintaining established stocking goals.

BASIC SCOPE: You are a key factor in insuring accuracy and customer confidence, which are prime ingredients to a successful operation. Without your helpful behavior and expertise all the facilities, all the equipment and all the great merchandising techniques are done in vain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Duties:
1. Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior.
2. Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
3. Maintain good working relationships with other department managers with objective of improved sales storewide.
4. At all times remember that our success will be dependent upon our ability to work together.
5. Informing the Grocery Manager of any pricing discrepancies or out-of-stocks.
6. Make price changes legibly and accurately within established guidelines and policies.
7. Assist in building store displays as directed by Grocery Manager.
8. Use all equipment properly and safely to avoid injury to yourself and others.
9. Assist customers needing help to locate items or seeking information.
10. Promptly and courteously provide customer checkout assistance, bagging and carryout service when requested.
11. Stock and display all assigned products in a fast, efficient and safe manner, taking care to avoid product damage while maintaining the established cases per man hour goals.
12. Clean and straighten backroom to make ready for grocery delivery.
13. Properly face all products with labels forward, upon completion of product stocking.
14. Responsible to unload trucks in a safe, timely manner.
15. Attend departmental, store and company meetings.
16. Must be familiar with all company safety and accident prevention policies, report all accidents to the department manager, or in their absence, the Store Manager.
17. Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in associate handbook.

Housekeeping/Maintenance:
1. Maintenance and housekeeping of assigned and other general store areas to include maintaining clean shelf conditions.
2. Insure that all excess product inventories is stored in an orderly and safe manner in designated backroom areas.
3. Make certain that all damaged products are properly recorded and stored in designated backroom areas.
4. Pull down off shelf/display merchandise, and dispose of empty packaging materials in accordance with store procedures.
5. Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation of the store with emphasis on the Grocery Department, grocery storage areas, exterior of building, parking lots and entrance areas.
