As an Associate Principal, Business Development, you will lead strategic client relationships and drive revenue growth across the financial services sector, with a strong focus on banking. You will work at the intersection of business development, digital transformation, and technology consulting. The role combines strategic account growth with hands-on ownership of complex sales opportunities, from prospecting through pursuit and expansion. You will engage with C-level stakeholders, shape high-impact proposals, and collaborate with solution and delivery experts to win and grow business. With exposure to major financial institutions and enterprise clients, you will help define innovative solutions and go-to-market strategies. - Drive revenue growth: Own revenue growth across strategic financial services accounts, measured through new client acquisition and expansion of existing relationships, while maintaining strong client satisfaction and healthy account teams.
- Develop strategic accounts: Identify priority accounts and opportunities, strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders, and develop strategies to expand services and deepen long-term partnerships.
- Lead business development: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across the banking and broader financial services market, managing opportunities from initial engagement through contract close.
- Build executive-level relationships: Cultivate and extend C-level relationships with current and prospective clients, demonstrating strong executive presence and positioning digital and technology capabilities around client priorities.
- Shape proposals and pitches: Partner with Solutions Architects, Product teams, and delivery leadership to develop compelling executive proposals, pitches, statements of work, and responses to RFPs and other sales processes.
- Support digital transformation initiatives: Balance growth strategy with operational project responsibilities, helping clients navigate technology modernization and broader digital transformation priorities.
- Strengthen go-to-market strategy: Contribute to banking-focused service offerings, marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships, and other initiatives designed to strengthen market positioning and generate demand.
- Provide industry insight: Monitor banking, technology, and vendor trends and translate market developments into actionable recommendations for internal teams and client engagements.
- Identify value opportunities: Diagnose business challenges, determine the underlying questions and data required for analysis, and translate findings into meaningful commercial insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with business development, marketing, product, solutions architecture, and delivery teams to coordinate pursuit strategies and deliver cohesive client solutions.
- Represent the organization externally: Travel up to 25% for client meetings, pitches, conferences, and other strategic business development activities.
- Financial services consulting experience: Significant experience within a digital product professional services agency or consultancy serving large financial services or banking clients, ideally at the F5000 or enterprise level.
- Business development expertise: Demonstrated success acquiring net-new clients and/or expanding existing accounts through cross-selling and strategic relationship development.
- Strategic and operational experience: Proven ability to balance growth strategy, client advisory work, and operational project responsibilities, including digital transformation initiatives.
- Banking knowledge: Strong intellectual curiosity about the banking sector, including emerging technologies, market dynamics, competitive trends, and evolving customer expectations.
- Commercial judgment: Ability to identify and characterize complex business issues, recognize high-value opportunities, and focus attention on the factors that will have the greatest impact.
- Analytical capabilities: Able to scope and plan analyses, identify and obtain the necessary data, evaluate findings, and turn quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations.
- Executive communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Influencing skills: Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management capabilities, combined with the executive presence required to influence senior decision-makers.
- Consultative mindset: Comfortable understanding client needs, articulating technology and product capabilities, and connecting solutions to measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborative leadership: Able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex pursuits involving sales, product, solutions architecture, delivery, and marketing.
- Self-direction: Highly motivated, intellectually curious, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant ownership.
- Travel flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for client engagements, pitches, and industry conferences.
- Competitive compensation: CA$200,000–CA$240,000 annual salary for Canada-based candidates.
- Annual bonus: Eligibility for a 10% annual bonus, subject to the applicable plan terms and conditions.
