What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced, client-facing Consultant to help lead FEMA task orders spanning two related work streams: standardizing operating procedures across programs, and strengthening stakeholder communications and executive coordination. The Consultant will manage day-to-day client relationships directly and own timely delivery of high-quality work across one or both work streams. This role also carries broader responsibility for team development and Partner Forces’ growth, mentoring less experienced staff, engaging internal resources and Delivery Excellence to support delivery, and contributing to business development and recompete efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong client management experience, sound judgment, and an interest in building both the account and the broader practice.
What you'll do:
- Lead timely development of high-quality deliverables across one or both work streams, managing day-to-day client relationships directly.
- Act as a trusted resource to clients across the task order, with a strong working understanding of the Statement of Work and how the team’s work supports it.
- Engage internal Partner Forces resources and Delivery Excellence functions as needed to support consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Apply solution-oriented thinking with the project team to problem-solve delivery challenges and mitigate risks.
- Organize contract workpapers and deliverables to support knowledge management and contract compliance.
- Prioritize working with less experienced staff using an apprenticeship model, and mentor senior analysts and newer consultants in compliance with timekeeping and other contract and corporate policies.
- Take initiative to identify areas where you can support and provide relief to project leadership.
- Build a professional network of client staff and peers from other companies on the task order, including primes and subcontractors.
- Track emerging client needs and pain points, and articulate how Partner Forces can help address them.
- uppoSrt recompete and business development activities for the task order, including research, information sharing, and participation in capture and proposal activities.
- Take a thought-leadership role in internal knowledge-sharing, contributing client insights, tools, or ideas that strengthen Partner Forces’ broader capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience supporting program management, business process improvement, communications, operations, or coordination efforts in a government or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships directly and leading delivery of high-quality work across multiple workstreams.
- Experience mentoring or developing less experienced staff, ideally using an apprenticeship or similar coaching model.
- Familiarity with the business development lifecycle, including recompete support, capture, and proposal activities.
- Strong judgment and solution-oriented problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate delivery risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Partner Forces persuasively to clients and prospective partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines across program offices in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with version-control, document-management, or data-visualization platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Power BI) preferred.
- Ability to work onsite as required in a professional client environment.
- Active DHS suitability or ability to obtain/maintain required clearance/access.
- Significant experience supporting DHS or other federal programs preferred.
