Job Description

Pessoa Desenvolvedora Backend Snior I Tech Lead (Ruby on Rails ou Go)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pessoa Desenvolvedora Backend Sênior I — Tech Lead (Ruby on Rails ou Go) based in Brazil.

This is a senior technical leadership role within a team focused on building and evolving scalable system integrations.
You will combine hands-on backend development with architectural ownership and technical direction.
Your work will connect enterprise platforms such as CRMs and ERPs through APIs, connectors, and strategic integrations.
You will be the main technical reference for the team, mentoring backend and frontend engineers and driving engineering standards.
The role involves close collaboration with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to turn complex needs into pragmatic solutions.
You will also contribute to AI-powered capabilities, observability, reliability, and continuous improvement of production systems.
This is a fully remote environment that values autonomy, clear communication, technical excellence, and sustainable delivery.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and evolve core product capabilities using Ruby on Rails or Go, maintaining high standards of code quality, scalability, and performance.
  • Define and evolve the architecture of integration systems, making technical decisions around technology stacks, patterns, trade-offs, maintainability, security, and cost.
  • Act as the team's primary technical reference, providing leadership and mentorship to backend and frontend engineers across different levels.
  • Support frontend technical decisions and ensure effective integration between backend and frontend components, without necessarily being responsible for frontend implementation.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards covering code quality, automated testing, observability, documentation, code reviews, and refactoring.
  • Design and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies, while promoting reliable engineering practices across the team.
  • Break complex problems into incremental deliveries, identify technical risks early, and contribute to estimation and planning with a focus on predictability.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to develop technically viable solutions, balancing technical investment, complexity, and customer value.
  • Translate technical concepts and decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and help align engineering priorities with product and business objectives.
  • Support production operations and critical incidents following a “you build it, you run it” mindset, continuously improving MTTR, availability, and system resilience.
  • Develop AI-powered solutions and integrate AI models where they can improve processes, product capabilities, or operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of backend development experience, preferably with Ruby on Rails or Golang, including previous experience as a technical reference or technical leader within an engineering squad.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including efficient data modeling.
  • Experience with modern infrastructure and cloud environments, particularly Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Solid experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana, as well as messaging technologies such as Sidekiq, SQS, or Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, including RSpec or equivalent tools, as well as SOLID principles and Design Patterns.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable RESTful APIs, with strong knowledge of Git and Linux.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, including LLM integrations, AI frameworks, or data-driven product capabilities.
  • Experience making architectural decisions in environments involving trade-offs between performance, cost, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Sufficient frontend knowledge to review architectural decisions, discuss technical trade-offs, and ensure effective backend/frontend integration.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring abilities, with autonomy, proactive ownership, critical thinking, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with system integrations, third-party APIs, webhooks, CRMs/ERPs, or integration platforms is a strong plus.
  • Experience supporting corporate or enterprise accounts, gathering specific requirements, and adapting solutions while preserving long-term maintainability is desirable.
Benefits
  • 100% remote work model.
  • Culture based on trust, autonomy, collaboration, and results.
  • Strong opportunities for learning, professional growth, and technical challenges.
  • Regular feedback and 1:1s with supportive leadership, without micromanagement.
  • Meal and food allowance.
  • Childcare assistance.
  • Home-office allowance.
  • Health-related benefits and support.
  • Education and culture allowance.
  • Gympass/Wellhub benefit.
  • Birthday day off.
  • Discounts on therapy and English courses.
  • Additional partner benefits and opportunities for professional development.
