This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Proposal Manager based in the United States.
This role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-quality proposals and competitive bid submissions.
You will work closely with practice leaders, business development teams, operations, and other stakeholders to translate complex information into compelling responses.
The position requires strong project management, organization, communication, and writing skills across multiple response formats.
You will manage proposal activities from initial creation through final submission while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
The role also contributes to quality assurance, process improvement, performance measurement, and lessons-learned initiatives.
An analytical mindset and attention to detail will be essential for maintaining consistent standards and improving proposal outcomes.

- Lead proposal development from initial planning and content collection through final bid submission, coordinating contributors and resources across multiple teams.
- Manage a diverse range of response types, including detailed RFPs, Requests for Information, Cost Opinions, and Statements of Qualification.
- Collaborate with practice leaders, business development professionals, operations teams, and other stakeholders to gather, organize, and develop compelling proposal content.
- Review proposals prepared by others and assess quality, consistency, completeness, and alignment with submission requirements.
- Coordinate multiple proposal projects simultaneously, adapting priorities and workflows to meet changing business needs and strict deadlines.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate proposal metrics and key performance indicators, including performance measures for the Proposal Support Team.
- Participate in after-action reviews, proposal process scoring, lessons-learned initiatives, and other continuous improvement activities.
- Help identify opportunities to improve proposal processes, workflows, quality, and efficiency.
- Support or potentially lead portions of the Proposal Support Team, contributing to team coordination and performance.
- Maintain consistent formatting, presentation standards, and corporate branding across proposal materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, liberal arts, business, engineering, marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and producing proposals; experience supporting pharmaceutical industry proposals is preferred.
- Strong proposal coordination capabilities, including planning, organization, communication, prioritization, and resource management.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success collaborating with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to understand, organize, and synthesize large volumes of complex information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards while managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with customer relationship management databases is desirable.
- Experience working with Adobe and Microsoft templates and maintaining consistent visual and formatting standards.
- Strong problem-solving, time-management, and multitasking skills, with the flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
- Collaborative and proactive mindset, with a willingness to support teammates across a broad range of proposal-related activities.
- Ability to maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members and work effectively in a remote environment.
- Competitive annual salary range of $95,000–$125,000.
