SUMMARY
With minimal supervision, directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of all Donated Goods operations to include management of personnel, Attended Donation Center sites (ADC’s), coordination of collection events, and data tracking and reports. Responsible for direct involvement in establishing plans and meeting specific goals and objectives for these operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Directs and coordinates operational activities of the Transportation Department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Supervises the Donation Department personnel. Manages all scheduling activities of the Donation Department to include staffing schedules, events, special projects, training, and transportation support to the ADC’s. Responsible to ensure all Attended Donation Centers are staffed and open on a daily basis. Coordinates coverage for transportation when needed.
- Trains and supervises personnel in regards to policy, department procedures, safety, customer service, and job duties.
- Professionally addresses customer and donor complaints and resolves issues to restore and promote good public relations.
- Responsible to accurately track, record, and monitor performance of all donation sources to monitor performance and profitability; to include insuring reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Responsible to conduct quarterly audits and inspections of the Attended Donation Centers. Facilitates and coordinates maintenance activities of Attended Donation Centers to maintain a clean appearance and branding; to include ensuring personnel are maintaining a well-organized and clean donation environment on a daily basis.
- Manage securing and inventory of supplies within budget.
- Ensures work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner both personally and by personnel at all times. Responsible to ensure all personnel are provided with and utilizing PPE, protective clothing and/or equipment when appropriate. Complies with all safety standards and promotes and cultivates safety within the Donation Department and Warehouse.
- Works with Assistant Director of Logistics to coordinate the delivery, transport, and pick up of donated/redemption goods through a fleet of vehicles. Ensures optimum delivery, transport, and pick up of Goodwill goods. Assigns trucks for business use and creates truck routes for drivers.
- Works with Assistant Director of Logistics to inspect vehicles and other equipment; schedules repair or service work of equipment, as needed.
- Interviews, hires, trains, coaches, and supervises workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties. Issues progressive discipline as necessary. Objectively evaluates all store employee performance.
- Serves as a company ambassador, promoting our Mission, and representing Goodwill Hawaii in a positive professional manner at all times while performing work both internally and externally.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and provides direction to Donation Attendant employees, drivers, and warehouse staff. Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Oversees the Transportation, Production, or Outlet departments in the absence of the Transportation, Production, or Outlet, supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two years of college plus related work experience and/or training involving supervisory level work in operational management and customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to supervise a large staff in operational activities involving customer service, processing, transportation and/or facility maintenance activities, desirable. Experience working independently and good communication skills to be able to provide information to the public on Goodwill’s mission and donation policies, and to assist in resolution of customer complaints. Knowledge of MS Office, Internet, and Email software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in reporting incidents and/or other documentation. Ability to speak effectively and clearly in providing direction and instructions required for operational functions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret financial information provided in meeting and complying with budgetary requirements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to function independently utilizing initiative and creativity.

Periodic travel is required. Valid driver’s license and clean traffic abstract. Access to an insured vehicle with current safety and registration.
