SUMMARY

The Donation and Transportation Assistant Manager at Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, Inc. oversees all donated goods operations within the Retail Operations division. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Logistics, the Donation and Transportation Assistant Manager directs and coordinates Attended Donation Center (ADC) sites, manages staff, organizes collection events, and tracks operational data and reports. This role is responsible for developing and executing plans to meet established goals and objectives with minimal supervision. In addition, the Donation and Transportation Assistant Manager supervises Transportation Department operations, ensuring efficient coordination of activities through direct leadership or delegation to subordinate employees, along with performing other assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Oversees all donated goods operations with minimal supervision
  • Manages personnel and Attended Donation Center (ADC) sites
  • Coordinates community collection events
  • Tracks operational data and prepares reports
  • Develops and implements plans to meet goals and objectives
  • Directs and coordinates Transportation Department activities
  • Supervises staff directly or through subordinate employees
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two years of college plus related supervisory experience in operations management and customer service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a large staff in customer service, processing, transportation, and/or facility maintenance operations (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of explaining organizational mission and donation policies to the public
  • Skilled in resolving customer complaints effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet, and email software

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Periodic travel required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean traffic abstract
  • Access to an insured vehicle with current safety inspection and registration

  • Requires close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
