We’re currently seeking a warm, dependable, and team-oriented Schoolwide Assistant Teacher to join our Harmon center. In this role, you’ll support classrooms throughout the school, helping teachers create positive experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children while building meaningful connections with children, families, and fellow educators.
As a Schoolwide Assistant Teacher at our Harmon early childhood education center, you’ll provide flexible classroom support across infant, toddler, and preschool programs while helping maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing daycare environment. This role is ideal for candidates interested in childcare, preschool teaching, daycare support, or early childhood education careers.
You'll thrive in this role if you have:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with infants preferred
- Willingness to complete OCFS required trainings
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
- Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
- Assisting Lead Teachers and classroom teams with daycare and preschool classroom activities, lesson plans, and age-appropriate curriculum
- Supporting children through daily childcare routines including arrival, circle time, meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, outdoor play, and classroom transitions
- Helping create a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
- Supervising children throughout the day to ensure safety, engagement, and compliance with teacher-to-child ratios
- Maintaining classroom cleanliness, organization, and sanitization in accordance with Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations and health and safety standards
- Assisting with classroom setup, snack and meal support, and daily daycare operations as needed
- Floating between classrooms to support staffing coverage and operational needs across the childcare center
- Building strong relationships with children, families, teachers, and center leadership through teamwork and professionalism
- Supporting compliance with all daycare licensing requirements, center policies, and early childhood education regulations
- Helping maintain classrooms that are prepared for licensing visits, inspections, and quality assurance standards
