This role is a high-impact, client-facing position focused on designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise data governance solutions on Azure. You will lead end-to-end Microsoft Purview implementations while shaping data governance strategies that enable organizations to transform raw data into trusted, well-managed, and compliant assets. The position combines technical depth in data engineering with strategic governance leadership, requiring close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. You will work across modern data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks, ensuring governance is embedded directly into pipelines and architectures. This is a senior role where you will influence how organizations manage metadata, lineage, classification, and data quality at scale. You will also act as a trusted advisor in client workshops, helping define governance models and data modernization roadmaps in complex enterprise environments.

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft Purview implementations, including data mapping, scanning strategies, metadata ingestion, classification, and lineage configuration.
• Design and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, including business glossaries, stewardship models, and data ownership structures.
• Conduct governance maturity assessments and define transformation roadmaps for clients.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, dbt, and Alteryx.
• Design and optimize data architectures and models in Snowflake and Databricks (including Delta Lake).
• Ensure governance principles are embedded into all data pipelines, including lineage, classification, and data quality.
• Develop Python-based automation and integrations for data workflows and operations.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.
• Lead client workshops, translating business needs into governance and architecture solutions.
• Support regulatory compliance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) through classification, access controls, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and BI teams to ensure consistent governance across platforms.
• Document pipelines, models, and governance policies while contributing to internal knowledge bases.

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data governance roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview implementations.
• Strong background in data governance frameworks, metadata management, cataloging, and lineage.
• Proven experience leading enterprise data governance programs or client-facing consulting engagements.
• Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Experience with dbt for data modeling and transformations.
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for automation and data engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with Alteryx is a plus.
• Ability to design governance structures such as data stewardship models and business glossaries.
• Strong communication skills with experience facilitating workshops and engaging executive stakeholders.
• Ability to bridge business and technical requirements in complex environments.
• Experience in regulated industries or familiarity with compliance frameworks is a plus.
