This role is a senior technical position focused on the design, delivery, and optimization of complex water treatment and environmental remediation systems. You will contribute to projects that support mine water management, reclamation, and industrial water treatment across diverse and challenging environments. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role in shaping engineering solutions from early-stage design through construction and commissioning. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with client engagement, ensuring solutions are both technically sound and aligned with operational needs. You will also support project execution through documentation, design reviews, and field collaboration. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to mentor junior engineers while influencing environmentally significant projects across Canada.
In this role, you will provide senior-level process engineering expertise across water treatment and remediation projects, ensuring high-quality design, execution, and operational performance.
- Lead engineering input for the design, construction, and commissioning of water treatment, mine water management, and remediation systems.
- Develop detailed engineering deliverables including study reports, specifications, contract documents, and design work packages.
- Prepare scope definitions, effort estimates, and technical documentation to support project planning and execution.
- Review engineering drawings and project documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
- Act as Professional of Record (PoR), producing signed and sealed engineering deliverables where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and system performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate technical inputs across engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical leadership during risk assessments, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
- Support client engagement and business development through proposals, presentations, and relationship management.
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate engineers, contributing to team capability development.
- Conduct site visits to support field implementation, commissioning, and stakeholder coordination.
This role requires strong expertise in process engineering within water treatment and environmental remediation, combined with leadership capabilities and professional engineering credentials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Process Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required.
- 7–9 years of experience in industrial water treatment, environmental engineering, or remediation projects.
- Proven experience in engineering design, project execution, and commissioning phases.
- Strong ability to manage technical projects and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in environmental consulting or project-based engineering environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related engineering/business tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in team settings.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000.
