Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, goals, and action plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analysis to management.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate sales representatives to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and development plans.
  • Lead sales meetings, set expectations, and communicate goals clearly.

Customer & Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Oversee the management of major accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and assist team members with closing complex deals.

Sales Operations

  • Establish and monitor sales metrics, KPIs, and activity goals to drive accountability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product teams to ensure alignment on pricing, promotions, and product offerings.
  • Ensure CRM tools are used effectively for tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.

Process Improvement

  • Optimize sales processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices for territory management, client outreach, and sales presentations.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and recommend enhancements to sales strategies.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Participate in annual sales planning, forecasting, and budget development.
  • Attend and represent NexTech at trade shows, conferences, and industry association events.
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, sales pipeline updates, and reporting to Sales Leadership.
  • Submit timely and accurate expense reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Follow all company policies, ethical guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Field, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office or similar tools.
  • Experience in the company’s specific industry (e.g., manufacturing, technology, retail).
  • Experience building or scaling a sales team.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk.
  • Use of hands for typing, handling devices, and demonstrating products.
  • Lifting of up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to see clearly at close and distant ranges and adjust focus when needed.
  • Field-based role requiring travel up to 50% within Southern California that may include overnight stays. Occasional travel outside of California that will require overnight stays.
