About the Role:

The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing and production equipment by performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position requires a deep understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions that minimize downtime. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment performance and support process improvements. Safety and compliance with industry standards are paramount, as the technician must adhere to all regulatory and company policies while working on complex machinery. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining high operational standards, reducing equipment failures, and supporting the overall productivity of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electro-mechanical technology or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an electro-mechanical technician or in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and practices related to electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician).
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as required by production schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electro-mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and tools, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.

Skills:

The required skills enable the technician to effectively diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge are applied daily to troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance. The ability to read technical documentation and schematics supports accurate problem identification and repair. Preferred skills such as PLC programming and CMMS proficiency enhance the technician's capability to work with modern automated equipment and maintain detailed maintenance records.
