Job Summary:
The Business Development/C&I Relationship Manager will play a crucial role in increasing the Eastern Iowa client base by establishing productive and profitable relationships with external firms and organizations. They will originate and service commercial relationships and will provide guidance and leadership to other Commercial Relationship Managers and Commercial Portfolio Managers.
Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Conducts and promotes business development across business lines to include C&I Lending, CRE Lending, Treasury Management, Private Banking, Mortgage, and Wealth Management
- Actively calls on COIs, business leaders, and attending events regularly to increase the name recognition of Bankers Trust in the market
- Identifies, structures, closes, monitors and services commercial loans of varying complexity
- Ensures that all loan decisions, actions, and recommendations are based on an accurate and thorough understanding of each customer's financial needs and market conditions, while complying with regulations and laws
- Evaluates and underwrites opportunities and recommend to loan committee for approval
- Manages documentation process and negotiates loan agreements
- Monitors portfolio on an ongoing basis to ensure financial performance conforms with initial underwriting
- Maintains high asset quality
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- College degree in Business related field required; Masters degree is preferred
- At least 15 years of Commercial Banking experience required, more than 20 years is preferred
- Proven business development and sales experience along with a track record of growing a loan portfolio is required
- Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

- Effective communicator with various stakeholders (colleagues, clients, community members)

- Strong credit analysis techniques
- Loan evaluation skills
- Loan Documentation knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Bank regulations
