Part-Time Medical Assistant – Aesthetic & Sexual Wellness Clinic at Climax Aesthetic Surgery – Virginia Beach, Virginia

The Medical Assistant will play a key role in supporting our providers during patient consultations, treatments, and follow-ups. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both aesthetic medicine and clinical care, with proficiency in Athena EMR and comfort working in an intimate-care environment.

This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and various clinical procedures, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care.

Duties

• Complete patient intake processes and conducting initial assessments.
• Assist providers during aesthetic and sexual health procedures, including pre- and post-procedure care.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, and basic laboratory tasks.
• Triage patients: obtain vitals, review medical history, and update charts.
• Manage and document all patient encounters using Athena EMR.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain clinical sterilization standards.
• Monitor and order medical and cosmetic inventory (supplies, injectables, disposables).
• Provide patient education, aftercare instructions, and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
• Support administrative operations, including scheduling and patient communication, as needed.
• Uphold clinic protocols related to hygiene, safety, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent experience (preferred but not required).
• Athena EMR proficiency is mandatory.
• Strong phlebotomy and clinical triage skills.
• Experience assisting with aesthetic procedures (e.g., injectables, PRP/PRF, laser treatments, hormone therapy, or intimate wellness treatments) preferred.
• Excellent bedside manner, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive topics.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a patient-focused, fast-paced clinical setting.
• Strong skills in patient service with an emphasis on empathy and communication.
