About This Position

Description:

The Wooten Company is seeking a CAD Designer to join our Water Resources team in our Raleigh office. This candidate will work on water distribution and wastewater conveyance projects, including wastewater pump stations, water booster stations, and elevated water tanks. This candidate will be responsible for developing design of projects from inception to final construction drawings, while receiving guidance from Project Engineers/ Managers.

Essential Functions:

  • Operates AutoCAD/ Civil 3D software with high level of proficiency.
  • Demonstrates expertise in drafting and design principles for water resources projects.
  • Prepare construction drawings under minimal supervision.
  • Work on multiple projects and prioritize work tasks to meet deadlines, while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Conforms with company QA/QC procedures during preparation of design documents.
Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associates degree from an accredited technical institute or university preferred with emphasis on Civil Engineering and/or excellent skills in AutoCAD/ Civil 3D.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at a civil engineering firm, A/E consulting firm is preferred.
  • Experience working within the DOT design systems (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and outside contacts both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, Excel.
