Registered Nurse - Emergency at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley – Sun Valley, California

The REGISTERED NURSE (EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT) is a member of the patient care team responsible for providing direct nursing care to critically ill or injured patients in the Emergency Department. The duties of the REGISTERED NURSE include but are not limited to:

• Triaging patients properly and efficiently
• Obtaining and documenting initial patient assessments – establishing priorities according to patient needs
• Reassessing patients as necessary, communicating changes to the physician
• Making comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes
• Providing patient and family regarding patient emergency care and after care

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Valid California Registered license
• One (1) years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency or Critical Care environment
• BLS, ACLS, NCI, PALS and EDAP
• Completion of basic arrhythmia courses
• Understanding of EMTALA and abuse reporting requirements
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills required
• Basic computers skills – Empower experience preferred
