About This Position

POSITION PURPOSE
    Responsible for assisting the department leadership with oversite of a variety of essential business functions that may include appointment scheduling, patient check-in, registration, coverage management, patient portal signup, patient message collection and routing, departmental support, prior authorizations and work queue management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    High School Graduate
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    1 – 3 years’ experience in healthcare
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    Knowledge of Medical Terminology, International Classification Coding of Diseases and Current Procedural Terminology guidelines and requirements related to inpatient and outpatient imaging services. Basic computer knowledge. Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language fluently.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    Positive communication skills, ability to successfully interact with all customers and staff, continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative, and service oriented manner. Fosters departmental teamwork and positive working relationships with employee's and physicians. Maintains positive interdepartmental working relationships for the purpose of streamlining operations to improve patient care delivery. Provides direction to the Patient Access Specialists in Imaging Services. Oversees and participates in the daily business operations of appointment scheduling, patient check-in, registration, coverage management, patient portal signup, patient message collection and routing, departmental support, prior authorizations, and work queue management. Provides leadership, training and education to Patient Access Specialists and serves as an exemplary role model and projects a positive image of Froedtert South following the Froedtert South Mission Statement and Values. Must meet Department specific essential job duties. Supports leadership, department, and System policies and procedures. Responsible for the coordination of the department’s daily workflow. Assists in the development and review of policy and procedures. Assists in employee recruitment, retention, counseling, education/training, and correction.
