Delta Dental of Washington is looking for a Staff Accountant/Accountant to join our Finance team and perform accountant duties for its parent company and related subsidiaries. The pay range for this position In Western Washington varies between $66,800 – $100,300, and for Eastern Washington varies between $61,100 - $91,600. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza Corp. intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Accounting & Reporting
- Perform monthly reconciliations for GL accounts and resolve reconciling items and variances.
- Record and manage journal entries in accordance with GAAP requirements.
- Provide data and analysis for budget preparation and periodic forecasts.
Compliance & Controls
- Assist with external and internal audits, including preparing documentation, answering questions, and coordinating information gathering across departments.
- Maintain written accounting policies and procedures that model effective workflows; review and update annually as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Communication & Collaboration
- Assist in creating and distributing team announcements, updates, and financial information to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain content for SharePoint sites and other communication platforms to ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve transparency and strengthen partnerships through effective communication.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field and 1+ years’ experience in the accounting field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and Windows.
- Experience with financial accounting systems and report writing tools.
- Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey financial information clearly.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Responsive to internal and external customer needs.
