Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) in WALLER, TX
Job Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports daily operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment (oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, inspections, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components
- Conduct DOT and safety inspections and maintain compliance records
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
- Use diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals effectively
- Ensure shop tools and work areas are kept clean and safe
- Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors or fleet managers
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment maintenance
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to read repair manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, if applicable)
- ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying weather conditions
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely
Work Environment
- Shop and outdoor work environments
- Exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and moving equipment
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm (work shift flexibility)
- May require occasional on-call or weekend work
- Agriculture Exemption for overtime (No OT paid)
