Job Summary:
A Driver is responsible for safely operating a vehicle and for transporting products to and from Lane facilities and customers, providing superior customer service along, assigned routes.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Transport finished goods and raw materials, to and from Lane manufacturing plants and job sites.
  • Manage daily driver’s electronic log, plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform required pre and post trip vehicle inspections identifying any potential mechanical or safety issues.
  • Must maintain truck, trailer, and securement devices in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain vehicle logbook and retain fuel/toll receipts to account for all miles driven. Report downtime availability to your immediate Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all parts being picked up from a vendor or customer are accounted for and reflected on the packing list and/or invoice before you sign for them.
  • Secure load to DOT requirements, using proper flagging methods and tarp when required.
  • Ensure that you obtain a receipt for all parts being returned to a vendor.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and must obey all yard and worksite safety rules.
  • Couple and uncouple semi-trailers as required.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all traffic rules regulations and laws.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations to your immediate supervisor regardless of damage to any vehicle or if a citation was issued.
  • Must maintain a clean, professional, appearance at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
