About This Position
Under the direction of the management team the EP Laboratory and with medical direction from physicians, the EP Rad Tech will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require administering of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. The EP Rad Tech will be expected to function with independent judgment and with little or no assistance to maintain department standards. The EP Rad Tech follows the radiation safety measures to ensure radiation is as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). The EP Rad Tech ensures radiation safety is maintained for all physicians, RN’s, technologists, and patients. Under the direct supervision of the Electrophysiologist, the EP Rad Tech will assist the physician with sterile technique, enduring sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an A.R.R.T. certified school of radiological technology.
- Must be ARRT registered.
- Must have a current license to operate radiologic equipment in the State of Indiana.
- 1-year experience, in general radiology preferred.
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology Lab Interventional Radiology Lab or Special Imaging preferred.
- Should have a working knowledge of Angiographic procedures and sterile techniques.
- Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Course
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months from starting date.
