JOB TITLE: Information Technology Summer Intern

SALARY: $16.00/Hour

OPENING DATE: April 13,2026

CLOSING DATE: April 24,2026

WORK HOURS: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (20 hours per week - schedule might be adjusted as necessary)

PROGRAM TIMEFRAME: June 1,2026 – July 31,2026

JOB SUMMARY:

Visit San Antonio (VSA) will be recruiting for Summer Intern positions. Under general supervision, intern will be assigned to assist the Information Technology Divisions of VSA with general administrative and/or research functions for the purpose of developing a working knowledge of the Hospitality Industry. Exercises no supervision.

Visit San Antonio is charged with promoting and marketing San Antonio as a premier convention and meetings destination and a domestic and international visitor destination, for the purpose of positively affecting the City’s economy. Visit San Antonio employs a variety of strategies that include convention and group sales efforts, as well as a leisure marketing campaign that includes various media, digital strategies, communications, and tourism efforts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the IT team with monitoring security alerts, system logs, and endpoint protection tools to identify potential threats.
  • Support vulnerability scanning and patch management efforts to help maintain a secure technology environment.
  • Help maintain and update IT asset inventories, documentation, and system diagrams.
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives, including phishing education and cybersecurity best practices for staff.
  • Assist with user account management, including access reviews, provisioning, and deprovisioning following security policies.
  • Provide support to the IT team with basic troubleshooting, help desk requests, and system administration tasks.
  • Document IT procedures, security processes, and troubleshooting guides to improve operational knowledge and consistency

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Must be enrolled in U. S. Department of Education accredited undergraduate degree program.
  • Intern is required to have a laptop.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Internet Protocols and Networking understanding.
  • Knowledge of PC technology, computer operating systems, network printer configuration and mobile device configuration in Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of VoIP technology and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of computer systems scheduling and report distribution.
  • Skill in professional, courteous verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on various types of mobile device connectivity problems.
  • Ability to create technical requirements documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
