About This Position
Description:
We seek a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will manage front desk operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in administrative tasks, experience with insurance verification, processing incoming referrals, medical records processing, and experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc. Must be able to travel to satellite offices in Dublin, GA, Warner Robins, GA, Milledgeville, GA, and Macon, GA on a weekly rotation.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient responsibility.
- Handle medical collections and process payments as necessary.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Process incoming referrals.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and scheduling.
- Other duties as assigned/ needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in administrative tasks.
