Quality Assurance Technician – Precast Concrete ManufacturingEZ-CRETE
The ideal candidate for this role will perform a wide range of quality assurance and technical duties in an industrial precast concrete manufacturing environment. This individual will be a key member of a team responsible for safely and efficiently testing precast concrete products to the highest quality standards — combining hands-on field work with rigorous data collection, analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Testing
- Test and evaluate all in-house concrete mix designs on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with established specifications and industry standards
- Perform pre- and post-pour inspections on all molds, documenting findings and flagging non-conformance
- Break concrete cylinders and conduct slump, air, and unit weight tests in accordance with ACI and ASTM standards
- Measure moisture content in aggregates and adjust mix designs accordingly
- Monitor and verify product quality throughout the production process, identifying deviations from specification in real time
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Record, organize, and maintain accurate QA data across structured spreadsheets and tracking tools (Excel or equivalent)
- Build and maintain data logs, trend reports, and dashboards to monitor key quality metrics over time
- Translate raw field and lab data into clear, actionable reports for production supervisors and management
- Identify patterns and anomalies in test data to proactively flag potential quality risks before they impact production
- Assist in developing and refining data collection templates and standardized reporting formats
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
- Troubleshoot concrete mix design issues using systematic problem-solving methodologies including Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, 5-Why analysis, and other root cause analysis (RCA) tools
- Collaborate with the production team to investigate quality failures, document findings, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, waste, and rework
- Communicate quality issues, concerns, and resolution status clearly to team members and leadership
Production Support & General Duties
- Prepare steel forms for casting and assist with production activities as needed
- Operate machinery including forklift and overhead crane (certification provided)
- Perform basic carpentry and construction tasks on a regular basis
- Support facility maintenance and housekeeping to ensure a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis, including production and maintenance support
Technical Skills
- ACI Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification (paid training provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including data entry, formula building, and basic charting
- Familiarity with quality management concepts such as non-conformance reporting, corrective actions, and inspection protocols
- Understanding of root cause analysis tools (Fishbone, 5-Why, Pareto, etc.)
- Solid math skills and a strong understanding of measurements, units, and tolerances

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical solutions
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and testing
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Consistency, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
Education & Experience
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years experience in Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of concrete, aggregate materials, or precast processes is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills are a plus
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs periodically throughout the workday
