Job Purpose:
The Production Methods and Time Engineer is responsible for the technical management of the production area, analyzing, forecasting, planning, and controlling the production process. This role involves defining, improving, and documenting work methods and time standards for each workstation while considering occupational safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Method Definition:
  • Define the work method for each workstation, including detailed instructions for operations (e.g., handling parts, placing them on templates, inspecting pieces).
  • Create detailed documentation (known as “Standard Operation Sheets”) with photos, critical points, and videos to explain proper techniques (e.g., inspection of cuts).
  • Configuration & Flexibility:
  • Define different configurations for workstations. Ensure stations are flexible enough to operate with one person for high productivity or two people during demand peaks.
  • Time Objective Setting:
  • Establish target times for each operation to ensure workers meet the desired cycle time.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Gather suggestions from operators to improve methods and reduce cycle times without compromising quality.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Internal Logistics & Layout:
  • Design internal logistics solutions (e.g., "line edge" shelving) to optimize production flow and workstation setup.
  • Capacity Studies:
  • Conduct capacity studies and analyses for client-facing processes, ensuring alignment with demand forecasting.
  • Project Coordination:
  • Work closely with Project Managers and the Production team to ensure smooth production start-ups and meet production targets.
  • Automation & Equipment Development:
  • Provide guidance on machinery and automation developments, collaborating with internal teams (e.g., Luke’s team) to assess and implement improvements.
  • Packaging Support:
  • Provide support for packaging design and logistics, especially in regions like the USA, helping optimize the use of returnable packaging.
  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, with a focus on Industrial Organization.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling, capacity planning, and logistics.
  • Performance Indicators:

  • Focus on improving operational efficiency using metrics like OEE, scrap rates, and productivity.
  • Lead initiatives in automation and process optimization.
