• Administer medications via approved routes (oral, topical, instillation, inhalation) in accordance with Ohio scope of practice, facility policy, and nurse delegation

• Apply the Six Rights of Medication Administration: right patient, right medication, right dose, right time, right route, and right documentation

• Monitor residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and report concerns promptly to supervising nurse

• Accurately document medication administration and resident responses per facility and regulatory guidelines

• Assist with vital signs and basic resident observations when permitted by facility policy

• Provide personal care support as needed (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, toileting)

• Communicate clearly with nursing leadership and facility staff regarding resident needs

• Follow all infection control, safety, and facility protocols

• Participate in required trainings, audits, and quality assurance initiatives

• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respectful interactions with residents, families, and staff

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED

• Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in the State of Ohio, issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing

• Active State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification listed on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry

• Completion of an Ohio Board of Nursingapproved Medication Aide training program and competency evaluation

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with resident mobility, and stand/walk for extended periods

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration and documentation

• Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, and verbal)

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medication administration or Med Tech role preferred
