Description: JOB SUMMARY:
The Salt Operator is responsible for all aspects of finished product. Operator will be expected to tie super sacks for the shift, upcoming shift and for the week end shifts. Operator will be responsible to assist other operators as needed. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and observe all work and safety rules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Place pallet with cardboard sheet into the supersack hopper
Tie super sacks for the shift, upcoming shift and for the week ends.
Attach supersack into the hopper and adjust, getting the supersack ready for salt to be dispensed into the sack
Press the button on the supersack hopper to start the filling process
Attach correct packaging labels
Remove supersack and transport to the correct area via a forklift
Enter data in the computer for record keeping
Prepare supersacks and tie supersacks to have them on hand for filling
Keep work area clean, free of salt and debris
Operate both the automatic and manual wrappers
Other duties assigned by supervisor or management
Assist other operators to set up sacks, move full sacks to the Warehouse.
Provide relief to other operators during absence, vacation, illness, etc.
Assist with Filter Press washing.
Observe work rules and safety rules and to wear personal protective equipment at all times.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to read, understand and follow procedures and instructions
Basic computer skills
2 years work experience, preferably in an manufacturing or warehouse environment
Must have good organizational and multi-tasking skills
NC Drivers License
Ability to push, pull and/or lift 50 pounds repetitively
Fork lift and warehouse experience a plus
